Pastures New - An Evening with Clare Balding in Conversation with Adam Henson - Tuesday 29th September

From the courts of Wimbledon to Buckingham Palace to the Traitors Castle, Clare is known to millions on screen for her warmth and wit. She brings the same humour and insight to her first novel, Pastures New, as it celebrates its paperback release. Funny and heart warming, the novel captures Clare’s deep affection for the countryside, its people and the important role animals play in our lives.

Joining Clare is one of Britain’s best known farmers and broadcasters, Adam Henson. A familiar face on BBC Countryfile for more than 20 years, Adam runs his family farm and Cotswold Farm Park and is a passionate advocate for British farming.

 Pastures New follows Alex, whose life is turned upside down when she unexpectedly inherits a crumbling sheep farm in wildest, wettest Wales. With a stubborn Welsh terrier by her side, a farm near collapse and the village gossip mill spinning, Alex sets out to uncover the truth behind her mysterious inheritance.

Waterstones will be joining us on the evening, with copies of Pastures New available to purchase and the opportunity to have your book signed by Clare.

There will also be live music before and after the talk from Marcello Music, setting the atmosphere for a brilliant evening.

Clare Balding is an award-winning broadcaster, journalist, and author. Alongside her extensive sports broadcasting and coverage of major Royal events, she hosts the much-loved Ramblings on BBC Radio 4. Her autobiography, ‘My Animals and Other Family’, won the National Book Award for Autobiography of the Year and she was awarded a CBE for services to Sport and Charity in 2022.
