Two outstanding artists from the UK and US will come together for the first time at Dunkerton's Jazz Sessions to perform an energetic set of jazz, blues and funky grooves with a lively, rocky edge, celebrating great music and good times in the unique surroundings of Dunkerton's Tap Room.

Cheltenham’s own Kim Cypher is one of the UK's most exciting saxophonists, vocalists and composers. Performing across the UK including sell-out shows at world renowned Ronnie Scott’s jazz club, with 2 highly acclaimed albums including Top 10 rated album ‘Love Kim x’ under her belt, Kim has firmly secured her position on the UK jazz scene as one of the UK’s most exciting and popular saxophonists, vocalists and composers. Having trained with legendary US saxophonist Pee Wee Ellis and UK jazz saxophonist Andy Sheppard, Kim’s style of performance is best described as ‘funky saxophonist meets 1940s jazz singer’.

US guitarist B.D. Lenz is a prolific recording artist with 13 highly acclaimed albums under his belt featuring incredible original pieces recorded with an array of top musicians including, most recently guitarist Mike Stern and trumpeter Randy Brecker. His style of playing was celebrated by New York Times where it stated: "Part of the reason for his accessibility is that he not only fuses jazz and rock, he complements it with warm chords of funk, soul, and rhythm and blues."  Mix together the styles of Pat Metheny, Mike Stern, and Stevie Ray Vaughn and you have the recipe for contempo-jazz guitarist B.D. Lenz. The New Jersey native has played guitar since his early teens, is a graduate of Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, and has studied with such masters as Mike Stern, Vic Juris, and Charlie Banacos along the way.

Having met a few years ago (when they were accidentally double-booked for a gig in the UK) Kim Cypher and B.D. Lenz just clicked. Their playing styles work so well together and compliment each other perfectly. Since that chance meeting, the two of them have performed several tours together and have recorded on a variety of collaborative music projects. 

Following on from their previous reunion gigs at Cheltenham's Smokey Joe's, this gig is sure to be full of energy, emotion and some serious heart and soul playing. And, as if that's not enough, the band line up for this very special night features some of the UK's finest musicians:
