The History of House Music with Arcadia Education - Sunday 5th October

Join Nick Nelson from Arcadia Education for a vibrant, interactive journey through the origins of House Music, from its disco roots and the iconic New York club scene of the early 1980s to the rise of sampling and seamless vinyl mixing.

With limited records available in unique formats, DJs and producers created new sounds by looping, layering, and experimenting, sparking the birth of a global movement. Nick will spotlight the genre’s pioneers, influential labels like Importe Records and State Street Records, and the legendary Technics SL-1200, the turntable that defined an era.

Expect music excerpts, film clips, and plenty of rhythm to bring the history to life. Whether you are reliving the soundtrack of your youth or discovering House for the first time, this is your chance to dive deep into the beats, culture, and creativity that shaped a generation.
