Camp 4-2-11 & FSLI Present Forest School - Tuesday 28th October
Description
Children will embark on an exciting outdoor adventure, learning a wide range of skills from fire lighting and den building to leadership and mindfulness. They will have the chance to work with real tools, explore their creativity, and discover the natural world around them.
Activities may include:
Building shelters and dens
Learning to safely light and maintain a fire
Core survival skills
Foraging for natural materials
Bushcraft workshops
Cooking over a campfire
Discovering local wildlife, tree species, and ecosystems
Confidence-boosting games and challenges
Teamwork and leadership tasks
Mindfulness and nature-based relaxation
Immersive storytelling around the fire
What should children bring?
A full water bottle
Any personal medication, clearly labelled and handed to a leader
A campfire snack will be provided, tailored to seasonal availability and the group’s dietary needs and allergies.
What Should children wear?
Long trousers and preferably long-sleeved tops (to protect against nettles, ticks, and bites)
Layered clothing and a spare set of clothes
Closed-toe footwear (no sandals or flip-flops)
Weather-appropriate accessories — woolly hats, sun hats, waterproofs, etc.
What if it rains?
Forest School is all about embracing the great outdoors in every season and weather condition. We aim to be outside as much as possible, even in the rain! However, on particularly unpleasant days, our leaders will complete a risk assessment of the area and give as much notice as possible for cancellations to ensure safety and enjoyment. If this happens, we will provide as much notice as possible and issue a full refund.
*Parents do not need to stay with their child for the activity but, we would appreciate you staying on site.

The QR code you have been sent is your ticket for entry. Please have this available to show on your arrival. There may be photographers and content creators at the event. By booking a ticket, you consent to yourself and anyone attending with you, including children, appearing in photos and videos, which may be used in promotional materials for Dunkertons and affiliated businesses.
