Our Trees Are Budding as Springtime Transitions Into Summertime

Our trees are budding as springtime transitions into summer.  As Dickens once said “Spring is the time of year when it is summer in the sun and winter in the shade.”  P1030524

This week in the orchards it has certainly seemed that way with the sun shining bright in the sky, yet with a chill in the morning and then later in the afternoon. It is still rather wonderful though to be able to enjoy the spell of drier weather as we walk around the orchards checking on the precious buds that will bear fruit later on in September.

It is the springtime when orchards start to show off their beauty and their value as a wildlife habitat. Spring is the perfect time to highlight the connection between the orchard’s and the wildlife living within.  Birds are nesting, bees and other invertebrates are pollinating  and everything is coming to life after a long winter.

Here are a few pictures of the trees taken this week by Will as he walked around inspecting the trees for positive signs of spring budding and blossom forming.
