We would like to introduce you all to one of our local stockists; a quaint village shop in Pembridge called Ye Olde Steppes. Originally opened in 1777, the shop reopened again in January 2012 much to the delight of the local villagers who wanted a shop that stocked ‘great value for money local quality produce’. They certainly get that as there are over 50 different products made by local producers situated less than 10 miles from the shop such as Swift’s the Bakers, Country Flavours Free Range Eggs, and, Suzanne’s Veg, as well as our own delicious organic cider. They also have a range of everyday household items and the owners will always do their best to get you an item if they don’t have it in stock.
Another exciting feature is the vintage “Olde” style sweet shop with jars of nostalgic goodies and sherbet lemons aplenty. The tearooms are also well worth a visit for the views as well as a sip of traditional English tea served in beautiful china.
The shop has received plenty of press attention and earlier this year was voted the Best Village Shop in the Midlands. Even the BBC Breakfast news team has presented a show from there and if you happen to use Trip Advisor you will see that the shop receives rave reviews from visitors near and far. So the next time you are travelling the beautiful countryside around Pembridge make sure you pop by and have a little nose around the delicious offerings and grab yourself some of our delicious organic cider in the process.
