Bio-diversity Research Project On Orchards

Curly pigs

In the early autumn 2014 we were approached by Charlotte; a PhD student who is carrying out a bio-diversity research project on orchards. Obviously we were keen to help out with the research project and offered Charlotte and her research team access to our orchards. Recently she has been counting the birds in the orchard and is preparing another survey for this summer.

Moo you looking at?

She has also been blogging about her project, writing about the background of the study and her fieldwork antics so far. One is called “Why I count birds at 4.30am” and the other is “Curly haired pigs, cow panic and a birdy dilemma”

The next step in Charlotte’s fieldwork following after the second bird surveys this summer will be nest boxes. We will keep you updated on her findings.
